Das heilpädagogische Zentrum in Altdorf, ein mit einer Mauer umfriedetes Ensemble von Bauten aus verschiedenen Zeitepochen, wurde mit einem Neubau ergänzt, welcher sich so subtil in die Oertlichkeit einordnet, dass ein grosser Teil der Grünflächen und der bestehenden Bäume erhalten werden konnte. Attraktion im Freiraum ist eine Komposition, von geometrischen, mit Buchen bepflanzten Figuren, die durch ihre Anordnung eine räumlich spannende Konstellation bildet, welche immer wieder neue Ein- und Ausblicke gewährt. Dieses an ein Labyrinth erinnernde Gefüge, wird von den Betreuern einerseits zu therapeutischen Zwecken genutzt, andererseits animiert es die Kinder auf entspannte Weise zum spielen und entdecken.

Curative education centre, Altdorf (UR)

The curative education centre in Altdorf, an ensemble of buildings from different periods surrounded by a wall, was extended with a new building that is integrated into the surroundings with such subtlety that a large part of the green areas and existing trees could be retained. The attraction in the open space is a composition of geometric figures including planted beech trees that form a spatially exciting constellation through their organisation, providing constantly new views from the inside and outside. This texture, which is reminiscent of a labyrinth, is used by the counsellors for therapeutic reasons and also encourages the children to play and discover in a relaxed way.
